Frequently asked questions
Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word?
No. This tool reads the existing text layer of a PDF. Scanned pages and image-only PDFs have no text layer and need OCR first.
Will the layout be preserved?
Lines and paragraphs are rebuilt from text coordinates, so text-based PDFs convert well. Complex tables, columns and formulas may shift, so plan on a quick cleanup in Word.
Which output formats are supported?
You can export Word (DOCX) and plain text (TXT), or simply preview and copy the extracted text on the page.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. No uploads, no retention. Your privacy is fully protected.
